Greetings Sisters and Brothers,
February is Black History month, a time to commemorate the history, achievements and contributions made by Black Canadians.
By celebrating Black History month we deepen our understanding of our shared history and strengthen our commitment to equality. Please take the time to visit www.blackhistorycanada.ca to learn more about the accomplishments of Black Canadians.
We have made many strides in the labour movement and in our society to fight discrimination. Yet there is still a great deal of work to be done to eliminate the barriers created by racism.
Please check with your neighbourhood library, museum or recreation centre for Black History month events occurring in your community.
In Solidarity,
