Defeat "Right to Work" Campaign Launch & Training

March 2, 2013
(All day)
Allstream Centre, Exhibition Place, 105 Princes' Blvd., Toronto, Ontario (Map)

Tim Hudak, Leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario has been championing “Right-to-Work” across Ontario, like many of his Conservative counterparts in the federal government.

“Right-to-Work” isn’t about guaranteeing people employment, as the name would suggest. Instead, it is about undermining unions to weaken workers power and thereby lower working standards. It’s no mistake that Hudak and his corporate friends are promoting this agenda, as U.S. States that have implemented this legislation have resulted in more people working for poverty wages.

Instead of discussions on investment, creating good jobs and having corporations pay their fair share of tax; we are seeing workers and their unions being attacked.

The Toronto and York Region Labour Council will be holding a training session for activists to kick off a campaign against Right-to-Work legislation on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Allstream Centre, Exhibition Place.

The event will run from 9 am - 4:30pm and registration is $50, please see attached registration form.
