STRIKE TRAINING

In light of such little progress in reaching fairness at the bargaining tables, the PSAC Sudbury Regional Office will be offering Strike Training throughout the North East Region for workers of CFIA, Parks, FB, CRA, and TB. We are looking for your input before finalizing dates and venues, however have tentatively scheduled the training sessions as follows;

Timmins – July 30th
Kirkland Lake - July 31st
Sault Ste. Marie – August 13th
Sudbury – August 14th
North Bay - August 15th

We ask that you most actively recruit members to take part and let us know if the date proposed works to ensure participation from your local, and suggest that the attached be posted on all bulletin boards with the contact name and number of one of your executive members, who should keep in touch with the RO to inform us of your local needs. Keep in mind that additional sessions may be offered if there is demand for that.

The objective for this training is;
• Know the roles of strike participants
• Be prepared to picket effectively
• Anticipate and be able to respond to personal problems that may arise
• Be able to conduct an effective strike action
• Be empowered to motivate others

The offerings will be held from 6:00 – 9:00 PM and the basic education policy applies which permits that “a light supper will be provided and participants are entitled to claim $20 to offset the cost of transportation and parking. Receipts are not required.”
