Sarnia - Members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC), who work at Blue Water Bridge (DCL Local 501), have signed a new collective agreement on December 19, 2019.
“We are happy to have a new contract that continues to improve our working conditions and acknowledges the important work our members perform to keep bridge operations going smoothly,” says Marcus Courchesne, PSAC DCL 501 President.
The Local, which comprises of cleaners, toll collectors and maintenance staff are integral to the operation of the bridge, which is the second busiest crossing, with thousands of vehicles crossing daily.
“This new agreement achieved healthy wage increases, maintains benefits and improves leave provisions for part-time employees,” states Sharon DeSousa, PSAC Ontario Regional Executive Vice-President. “I am proud of our bargaining team and the achievements they made for our members.”
