2018 International Women's Day

Every year we celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8th.

The current political and social climate has been a call to action for many, as we continue the fight for gender equality, recognition and an end to exclusionary practices.

The movement for gender equality has been revitalized with the wave of misogyny shown through the U.S. election and the #MeToo movement. New activists are getting engaged in a united call for change.

“The story of women’s struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organization but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights”, stated Gloria Steinem.

The women before us fought. They fought for the right to vote, the right to have a say in their workplaces and in their unions; the right to be included. Now it is our turn to continue to fight for equality.

I encourage everyone who believes in human rights to participate, to stand strong and united, and to join in the collective show of solidarity on International Women’s Day.
