Barrie Area Council
PSAC members from all over Simcoe County join together to make our voices heard and to share workplace issues, from departments, agencies and DCLs. We’ve been on the organizing committee of the Barrie Labour Day event for a number of years, participate in the Barrie Pride Parade and Festival annually, as well as Health & Safety events and assist the Barrie District Injured Workers Group. This year we attended training, summits and conferences, lobbied Members of Parliament and bused to Toronto for the OFL October 1st Day of Action at Queen’s Park with other members of the Barrie District Labour Council. We also organized a Fix Phoenix! demonstration at CFB Borden in February, and have been honoured to host Sharon DeSousa and our wonderful PSAC staff on numerous occasions. Come out and join us or check out our Facebook page!
Barrie Regional Women’s Committee
Join the PSAC sisters of Simcoe County at our next event, as we Take Back the Night in downtown Barrie. We also participate in Vigils for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and for the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. In January we marched in the Women’s March in Toronto and in March we attended International Women’s Day events around the county as well as the PSAC Equity Conference. We enjoy joining in with Barrie Area Council at Labour Day and many other events throughout the year. Your sisters in solidarity look forward to seeing you.
