Conventions are the supreme governing body for the union. It is the place where delegates elect their leadership, adopt budgets, and set priorities and policy for the next three years. This one-day course is designed to assist members wanting to learn more about democratic participation at Convention. Participants will explore the PSAC Rules of Order; write resolutions; be able to prepare to support strategic and well-written resolutions; develop an analysis for ensuring integration of groups who have historically experienced barriers to their participation in the union; and support and promote resolutions on equity and social justice issues at Convention. Having the Talking Union Basics (TUB) is an advantage, but not a prerequisite.
