Angus, ON – The Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) will be holding a demonstration outside of the Canadian Forces Base Borden over the continued problem-plagued, federal public service pay system known as Phoenix.
- When: Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 2:30pm
- Where: CFB Borden (Angus Gate)
This demonstration comes just days before the one year anniversary of the government rolling out the Phoenix pay system (February 24th), and all the problems that have transpired because of it.
Our members continue to face pay problems, with some not being paid at all and others being paid tens of thousands of dollars more than they should. The government itself has stated in the media that the problems will continue for months to come, with no end date in site.
“This situation is completely unacceptable and has caused tremendous anxiety and hardship within the entire federal public service,” states Sharon DeSousa, PSAC Ontario Regional Executive Vice-President. “No other employer would have been allowed to get away with a situation as detrimental as this without serious repercussions.”
PSAC has hundreds of members affected in the Barrie/Borden area, including employees at CFB Borden.
