Toronto –Workers employed at the Slots at Woodbine are rallying to demand a fair contract from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming corporation (OLG).
As the OLG’s largest and most profitable facility, workers are demanding to be fairly compensated given the high cost of living in the city.
- What: Rally for a Fair Contract
- When: Friday, May 5, 2017 at 4:15pm
- Where: Front entrance of Woodbine (555 Rexdale Blvd, Toronto)
There has been a great deal of labour conflict due to the OLG’s privatization of its gaming facilities, since the launch of their “modernization” plan in 2012. Most recently, the OLG has locked workers out at four sites including; Brantford, Sudbury, Woodbine and Rideau-Carleton in Ottawa.
Workers had previously voted down a tentative agreement and are eager to reach a new tentative agreement that addresses their concerns.
