Our bargaining team met with Canada Post Corporation from February 21 to 23 and January 17 and 18.

At our last session, we spent some time clarifying our proposals to the employer. We tabled our proposal to have all members enrolled in the defined benefit component of the CPC Pension Plan. We believe that all PSAC-UPCE members should have retirement security.

We also tabled proposals to improve family leave provisions.

The 28th Constitutional Convention of the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) will be held May 8 – 12, 2017, in Toronto.  As in previous years, the PSAC will be fully funding up to ten delegates to represent PSAC’s five equity groups:  women, Aboriginal peoples, racially visible peoples, persons with disabilities and members of the LGBT communities. 

When will we vote on the deal?

PSAC is currently preparing the ratification kits for the EB membership. These kits will explain the changes that were negotiated and why our EB Bargaining Team is recommending that members accept this tentative agreement. Information meetings will be held across the country so that EB members can hear from a Bargaining Team member and ask questions prior to casting their ballot on the tentative agreement. The ratification vote process takes approximately six to eight weeks to conclude. Information on ratification meetings will be shared via the PSAC national and regional websites when it becomes available.
