“We are pleased that the federal government has confirmed that they will not be proceeding with a plan to sell off Canada’s airports at this time.”  said Robyn Benson, PSAC National President.  “Canadians would not benefit from a private, for-profit, airport infrastructure system. Costs would rise for passengers, and the quality of service would diminish just so a few investors can make a profit.”

Although, depending on your case, a grievance may not speed up the process of having your pay corrected, the employer is obligated to listen to the problems you are having because of Phoenix, and must provide a formal response about what they are doing to correct it.

It is important to carefully document the pay problems you are having, and retain all records of your pay information and the steps taken to resolve your pay issues.

“They are saying they can’t even tell us how many of our members haven’t received their retro pay until next year, let alone when our members can expect to even receive that money,” said PSAC National President Robyn Benson.

Earlier this year, the Federal Public Service Labour Relations and Employment Board declared the federal government had violated its obligations under the law by failing to meet the deadline. The Board had also ordered the government to provide an update on implementation.

• Find a webinar/meeting on a regional website; register and listen to a 20-minute presentation on your tentative agreement. You have the option to stay on the session for the Q&A session after the presentation or;
• Once you have heard the presentation you can log off the session and click on the link in step two to vote. 

Both attendance at the webinar session and casting your ballot can be accomplished by phone, but you still must register for the webinar session as this will activate your Personal Identification Number (PIN) so you can vote.

Applications are due June 29, 2018 and scholarships will be granted in the fall.

The Harper government devastated The Canadian Navigable Waters Act, stripping environmental protection from 99% of lakes and rivers. Although the current government introduced legislation to alleviate some of the cuts, it does not go nearly far enough in protecting Canada’s waters.
