Updates

On November 11th we commemorate Remembrance Day by reflecting on the sacrifices made by those who have served and the many that have lost their lives.

When Trudeau was elected, he said he wanted to be a “partner” to public service workers and not an adversary.

One year later, thousands of public service workers are either not getting paid, or being paid improperly, thanks to the government’s mishandling of the Phoenix pay system. And more than 90,000 PSAC members have spent the last two years trying to negotiate a fair contract with Treasury Board, to no avail.

PSAC was back at the bargaining table today to resume negotiations for new collective agreements.

Revised mandate

Treasury Board has indicated that they have a revised mandate on some of the key issues in this round of bargaining.

PSAC’s bargaining priorities

  • Healthier workplaces
  • Strong public services
  • Fair treatment for workers if service delivery changes

We will provide updates throughout the week.

Thank you for your ongoing patience and support!

While the government acknowledged earlier this month that they would not meet the October 31 deadline, it is unacceptable that a clear plan to fix Phoenix has yet to be articulated.

Treasury Board has recently put in place temporary changes to the enrollment in the public service benefit plans. The changes are to address problems that arose as a result of the Phoenix pay system.

TBS recently posted a notice on their website with details of the changes and how to follow up:
